In the commonwealth’s 1st congressional district race, Brian Fitzpatrick defeated Ashley Ehasz for the House seat representing Bucks and Mongomery counties, the AP projects.
The incumbent was leading his democratic party opponent by a margin of 57.5% to 42.3%, with 88% of the vote as of 1 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 6, according to the PA Department of State.
The 50-year-old Fitzpatrick has represented the district since 2017. He was first elected to represent the 8th Congressional District in 2016, replacing his older brother Michael G. Fitzpatrick. Before that, he was an FBI supervisory special agent and special assistant United States attorney.
Among his top issues, according to Ballotpedia, were protecting the top priority was protecting families.
The Pennslyvania native earned his BS in Business Administration from La Salle University in 1996 and both a Master of Business Administration at Pennsylvania State University and a Juris Doctor at the Penn State Dickinson School of Law in 2001.
